This is Not a Test
Goodreads synopsis:
It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self.

To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live.

But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside.

When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

At first, I wasn't sure if I really wanted this book. Zombies, typically, are not my thing, and a year or so ago, I wouldn't have read anything with them in it, convinced that I would really hate it. But then I read The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan (on a persistent recommendation from Jenny at Chocolate Chunky Munkie), and despite myself, I ended up loving it! So my whole 'I don't like Zombies' thing, was flipped on its head.
Despite this, I still wasn't sure about this one. However, as I see more and more positive things being said about it, I've slowly changed my mind. So yes, I think this one is a strong contender on my wishlist now, and I'm looking forward to being able to get it in the near future :)

I was really wary of this book too - zombies are NOT my thing - but I read it this month for the Canadian Reading Challenge and LOVED it. It wasn't what I was expecting at all, and I've basically seen nothing but good reviews for it. I hope you enjoy it whenever you get around to reading it! :-)

I have an on-again off-again relationship with zombie stories but this one sounds great. I'll definitely have to check it out.

This book looks so great! I have heard a lot of positive things about it. With all of the zombie books coming out, somehow this one seems different. Love the school setting.
