by Nina LaCour
Goodreads synopsis:
Colby and Bev have a long-standing pact: graduate, hit the road with Bev's band, and then spend the year wandering around Europe. But moments after the tour kicks off, Bev makes a shocking announcement: she's abandoning their plans - and Colby - to start college in the fall.
But the show must go on and The Disenchantments weave through the Pacific Northwest, playing in small towns and dingy venues, while roadie- Colby struggles to deal with Bev's already-growing distance and the most important question of all: what's next?
Morris Award–finalist Nina LaCour draws together the beauty and influences of music and art to brilliantly capture a group of friends on the brink of the rest of their lives.
I first saw this book, only yesterday, on a BookTuber's channel, AmirasBookReviews, where Amira was reviewing it (you can click to go to the video review HERE).
The first thing I thought about the book, when she showed it in the video, was that the cover was really beautiful (even though Amira also said that it was a little misleading), so it had already grabbed my attention. The second thing that really grabbed me about it, was that it involved a road trip (of sorts), and having read Saving June by Hannah Harrington recently, I'm a little bit in love with the whole road trip thing.
On top of this, it just sounds like a really great coming-of-age kind of story.
This has definitely gone on my wishlist, and as soon as I shift some more books from the TBR mountain, I will definitely be getting this one!

:O I'm reading Saving June right now!
I'm kind of iffy on the road trips so far (John Green has made me fall a little out of disenchantment with them) but I will check out this book.
It has a nice cover. I shall add it to my shelf "hipster covers."
Ahhh, I adored Saving June! I hope you're enjoying it, too!
I'm yet to read a John Green book, but I really need to get around to them!
I'm sure I used to have the same T-shirt as that girl on the front cover lol. This one sounds interesting, I will have to wait for your review before I take the plunge. If it's tried and tested by you and gets the thumbs up, then it will go on my wishlist. Now had you mentioned zombies...... well that would have been a different story lol.
