by A.F. Harrold & Emily Gravett
Synopsis:
Rudger is Amanda’s best friend. He doesn't exist, but nobody's perfect.
Only Amanda can see her imaginary friend – until the sinister Mr Bunting arrives at Amanda's door. Mr Bunting hunts imaginaries. Rumour says that he eats them. And he's sniffed out Rudger. Soon Rudger is alone, and running for his imaginary life. But can a boy who isn’t there survive without a friend to dream him up?
A brilliantly funny, scary and moving read from the unique imagination of A.F. Harrold, this beautiful book is astoundingly illustrated with integrated art and colour spreads by the award-winning Emily Gravett.
This is a book that I keep seeing around recently, and it's nearly all good things. I can completely see why it might get so much positive attention. For one thing, the illustrations are beautiful, and if you ever see a copy 'in the flesh', it's even more stunning. And the synopsis sounds fantastic; thrilling, unique and totally compelling. All in all, this sounds like one that shouldn't be missed, and I don't think it will be long before I have a copy on my shelves, and not too long again until I pick it up to read.Only Amanda can see her imaginary friend – until the sinister Mr Bunting arrives at Amanda's door. The synopsis sounds interesting and unique. I've only read one book with an imaginary friend in it, that's If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern. :) I hope you'll get The Imaginary soon! :)
Hi Aizel,
I did end up getting it! Got it while I was at work yesterday :) Looks awesome and I can't wait to read it.
